Chicago is one of the most crowded cities in the US. With all the people living, working, and visiting on any given day or month, parking space can be one of the greatest commodities Downtown Chicago can offer. But if you know where to look, parking space in a garage or on the street in downtown Chicago can be found. You can find a list of parking spaces and many other useful information at http://chicagospace.com/

So true, Tom. Especially on major commercial strips in that area where you often have to pay in 15-minute increments on meters, not to mention deal with the labyrinth of permit parking on residential streets -- a boon to those who live there, but a bane to those with few options elsewhere. I don't think the solution is more parking garages or parking lots (both of which usually uglify neighborhoods and pose unnecessary environmental hazards). And the solution isn't carrying around a pirate's booty worth of quarters in your pocket to feed meters. (I think I just invented a new illicit trade: Parking Pirate.) The solution is fewer cars on the road so we don't have to become slaves to these problems in the first place. I hope you're finding I-GO a helpful alternative, and we hope that as we work toward partnering with other transit agencies and orgs (CTA, Active Transportation Alliance, etc.), we'll all be able to create a widespread, integrated transportation network that further reduces the need to own a car. Everyone should read "Two Billion Cars: Driving Toward Sustainability." The human population explosion is well documented; the automobile version, less so. It's out of control, and whatever your reasons for choosing car sharing, Tom, you're part of the antidote. Thanks for your comment.

Not having to worry about parking tickets and parking in general was a major reason we sold our car for I-Go. Most people don't budget parking tickets into their car budget, but if you live in Wrigleyville like us, then it's almost a given to get a ticket.
