Offering contemporary Irish cuisine in a traditional setting, Mrs. Murphy & Sons Irish Bistro is the realization of an ambition long wished for by the late Jim Murphy, former proprietor of Wrigleyville’s popular bar, Murphy’s Bleachers. The beautifully renovated space, accommodating small and large parties, is the charming backdrop for Chef Jeanne Carlson’s upscale twists on Emerald Isle fare: ribs with whiskey marmalade barbecue sauce and blue cheese slaw, for instance, or potato gnocchi with butternut squash, chestnuts, chanterelle mushrooms, sage, and brown butter.
