Pivot Boutique opened as Chicago’s first eco-fashion boutique in September 2007, and quickly became one of the most talked-about boutiques in the city. Owner Jessa Brinkmeyer set out to align fashion and good design with smart living, featuring designers using organic and sustainable materials and processes. Pivot featured lines from more than 50 designers including Lara Miller, Frei Designs, Linda Loudermilk, Loyale, Good Society and She Bible. In October 2009, Jessa closed Pivot’s Chicago storefront to refocus resources and energies on Pivot’s online store while continuing to support eco-fashion, spreading the message that you don’t need to sacrifice style to have a more conscious wardrobe.
