Licensing & Driving Records Info For International Drivers Application
If you have been licensed outside the United States in the past 5 years, you must obtain your driving record yourself and submit it to our New Membership Department for processing prior to applying for membership. The documentation you obtain and provide must come from the agency or department responsible for tracking driving records in your country. Every country is different but if you don’t know whom to contact, try checking with the agency that issued your license, a police department in the issuing country, or a court in the issuing country. Please note the information cannot come from your insurance company.
Once you have determined the agency in charge of tracking this information you will need to request documentation that provides the following:
Your full name, your date of birth, your license number, the date your license was issued, the license expiration date (if applicable), and any details related to any traffic violations or accidents that you’ve had in the last five years.

Make sure to provide your contact information (name, phone, and email) with all correspondence so that we can contact you with any questions.
Once we receive your documents we will submit them to our insurance company for approval. Upon approval we will contact you with instructions on how you can complete your application.

- Online:Have Proof of Identity documents or your Driver’s License available.
- Online:Complete a request for information form and pay a fee.

Australia – South Australia:
To obtain a summary of offenses you will need to forward a signed letter to Information Services. Your letter should contain your requirements and personal details along with return address details.

In addition, some states do not issue a pictured driving license. Please visit http://www.denatran.gov.br/detran.htm if you were issued a driver’s license without a photo from one of these states.
Alternatively, you are able to obtain your driving record by applying in person or via a legal designee. Your driving record needs to be a notarized translation by a sworn translator.
Canada (Alberta):
Bring a Driver Abstract Consent to a registry agent office.
If you want to designate someone else to obtain your abstract for you:
1. Fill out the Driver Abstract Consent form; give it to your designee.
2. The person must fill out the Driver Abstract Statement of Intent form, and bring both (the Intent and the Consent forms) to a registry agent office.
3. Finally, she/he can obtain the record from the office and mail or fax it to us, or request it be mailed directly from the office.

Fax requests can be made by sending a copy of two pieces of identification to the Driving and Vehicle Licensing office at 867-873-7487. The cost for the transaction is $12.14 and they ask that you provide credit card information on the fax. Additional questions can be directed to them by phone at 867-873-7487.

To obtain a Driver Abstract, SGI requires a written request from you providing your full name, date of birth and Saskatchewan driver’s license number and signature.
If requesting by mail, please forward the request and payment of $10 to:

Canada (Yukon Territory):
Please fax a request to (867) 393 6220. You should include your DOB, driver’s license number, phone number, VISA credit card number and expiration date, signature, and the fax number to which you would like your record sent.

You need to obtain a notarized translation of your casier judiciaire. You can order it by filling out an online form, or you can request it by mail. Here is the address:

This website is the Japan safe driving center. You can obtain an English version of the Clean Accident and Offense Record Certificate from the website.
New Zealand:

Your representative can visit your local Driver’s License Testing Center for you. You need to provide:
- The representative’s own ID
- Application form for the Certificate of Driver’s License (downloadable from the above website)
- Letter of Authorization (should include your name, the representative’s name, the purpose of authorization, and your signature)
- A copy of your passport
- A copy of your driver’s license

Alternatively, you are able to obtain your driving record by applying in person. Anybody who is your relative with the same last name or a designee can get your driving record from the local association (Emniyet Mudurlgu). It needs to be notarized translation by a sworn translator.
United Kingdom:

Please include a note confirming your full name, date of birth, and the last address shown on your license.
You will need to enclose signed authority requesting this information to be forwarded to you. You will need to make sure to quote either the driver number or the full name, date of birth and address shown on the driving license/record. The fee is £5.00. If making payment by check you will make sure that they can cash the check at a British bank.
If you wish to pay in a foreign currency there is an additional bank charge of £5.50.
Please note that the DVLA will not provide your driving record information via email or accept requests via email for your driving record.
