It’s tough topping a year like 2007! We added thousands of new members and a fleet of new low-emissions vehicles. New talent joined the I-GO staff, key business partnerships were developed and we had a bash at the Metro. Each week had neighborhood events, we made enhancements to member plans and we closed out the year with a green holiday extravaganza. It may be tough to top a year like 2007, but stick around… the best is yet to come!
What’s New at I-GO?
Happy New Year from the I-GO Team
Our growth and success is a result of your commitment to I-GO Car Sharing. As the only local, non-profit car sharing organization in Chicago, we appreciate your loyalty and look forward to serving you in 2008!

Coming Soon!
The demand for vehicles in Edgewater, Evanston, Hyde Park and Rogers Park has been so great that we are adding vehicles to these neighborhoods in January and February. Check email notifications and the reservation site for specific car #’s and addresses in the near future. “Hey, what about my neighborhood?” Don’t fret. We’ll be adding more new vehicles to other neighborhoods in coming months!
I-GO Proudly Sponsors The Museum of Modern Ice
This February, I-GO is the exclusive car sharing sponsor for this free, month-long winter celebration in Millennium Park. Don’t miss the spectacular ice wall created by artist Gordon Halloran or plan a day of skating atop Halloran’s abstract ice painting in Millennium Park’s McCormick Tribune Ice Rink. Neighborhood News
Hyde Park
Information provided by I-GO member Valerie Wallace; photo by I-GO member Marc Monaghan.
This bustling lakefront South Side neighborhood is known for its diverse people, architecture and food. During the winter, tourists and family outings often find their way to the Museum of Science and Industry (57th and Lake Park), Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House (58th and Woodlawn), DuSable Museum of African American History (58th and Cottage Grove) and the Greek-owned Valois “See Your Food” cafeteria-style-everyone-eats-here-comfort-food. Make a day of some of our newer attractions – the newly located and stimulating Hyde Park Art Center (50th and Cornell), the recent arrival of the “old” Checkerboard Lounge Blues Club (now with Jazz on Sundays) on 52nd and Harper, and Chant (Eat, drink, breathe, repeat is their mantra) which serves Pan-Asian tapas and exotic drinks from their stone bar. For more information about Hyde Park, visit http://www.hydeparksecc.com/.
If you’d like to share information about your neighborhood, contact Deb Ackles. You could earn up to $20 in driving credits if we use your content in future newsletters.
Thank you 2007 Volunteers
Attending and supporting neighborhood events and reaching out to communities throughout Chicago, Evanston and Oak Park is possible with the help of our fantastic volunteers! Not only is volunteering for I-GO critical to our successful outreach, but it’s a great way to network, make friends and be a part of community activities. Plus, I-GO matches every hour volunteered with an hour of driving credit! A special thanks goes to Beth Arthur who received I-GO’s 2007 Volunteer of the Year Award.

I-GO 2007 Volunteer of the Year recipient, Beth Arthur, with I-GO Volunteer Coordinator, Sheena McNeal.
