Donna SpilisMy name is Donna Spilis and I am not usually a "winner." So imagine my surprise when I received a call that I was the 5,000th member to sign up for I-GO Car Sharing. That same week I had won two tickets to a Cubs game, and found three dollars on the ground. The suburbs had always been my home. I have worked for the American Bar Association for 32 years. When my daughters reached adulthood and moved away from their Mom, it took another five years before I realized I didn't have to keep that home that was too large for me alone, or commute to Chicago 40 miles each way from NW Indiana any longer, or keep a car with the ever increasing cost of gasoline. Within three months, my car was gone and I was on the car rental path, which was only a couple times a month. There were several Internet sites about car sharing, but the "I-GO" listing caught my attention. The ease of completing the application on line, the convenient location, the options, the insurance coverage, the thorough orientation and organization of the process all appealed to my anal-retentive personality (well, I'm not that bad.) Everything seems to be included! I look forward to a successful, equally satisfying relationship with I-GO and an opportunity to meet other members. Now that it's finally nice outside, why not enjoy it by doing a little skydiving? Okay, this is probably not the
most environmentally friendly thing to do, but even environmentalists have to have fun sometimes. Although all of the
websites say "Skydive Chicago", you have to drive 50 miles out of your way to get to the plane. What a perfect I-GO trip!
(Hint: The Standard Plus Plan or GO 10 are most cost-effective for this type of trip.)
