Expanding in Evanston
I-GO's new Honda CRV at 508 South Blvd. adds a much-needed sport utility vehicle in south Evanston.

How much does I-GO love Evanston? Let us count the ways. Twelve to be precise.
The three new vehicles joining our Evanston flock in August (Honda CRV, Toyota Yaris, Honda Odyssey—see above for the deets) bring the number of I-GO cars in the community to an even dozen.

We’re psyched that the South Blvd. and Hinman Ave. cars bring even more I-GO cars to south Evanston residents. And we think the Odyssey minivan in north Evanston is a pretty big deal, too. Previously, the closest I-GO minivan for Evanstonians was miles away on Chicago’s North Side.
So load up the groceries and get those kids to their soccer game on time. It’s easier than ever with I-GO.
Twice as nice in South Shore

I-GO is flattered to rub shoulders with such elegant company: The landmark South Shore Cultural Center's ballrooms have hosted, among other events, the wedding reception of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

As a non-profit, mission-based organization, I-GO has always sought to provide car sharing in as many neighborhoods as possible across the metro area. We believe that every citizen has a right to convenient, affordable transportation.

Our partnership with the Chicago Park District has furthered that goal. The Park District has generously provided I-GO with locations at parks across the city. The latest: the stunning South Shore Cultural Center at 7059 S. South Shore Dr., where we’re adding a new 2010 Honda Insight.

The ultra eco-friendly ride—capable of 40 to 50mpg—strengthens our commitment to South Shore, where we also have a Scion xB at 1809 E. 71st St.

Hello? Is there an eco in here?

Plenty of fests claim an environmental pedigree. Here’s one that wears its bleedin’ eco heart on its green sleeves:

Green Music Fest
Sat. & Sun., Aug. 15-16, noon-11pm
Eckhart Park, 1330 W. Chicago Ave.

It’s hosted by the inspired West Town Chicago Chamber of Commerce, and the green section of the fest—where I-GO will be sidling up to some 60 other green vendors—is sponsored by the Center for Green Technology, an incubator for green industry that was hatched by the City of Chicago’s Department of Environment. Our pals at the Center for Neighborhood Technology (which launched I-GO in 2002) are closely involved at the facility and with this fest.

How green is it? We’re talkin’ bio-diesel-fuel-operated generators, biodegradable plastic cups, recycling and composting options, water bottles made from plant-based materials, recyclable or reusable signage, and…well, you get the idea.

It’s the real deal. And so are the membership deals we’ll be dishing out at our booth. Get ‘em while they’re hot.
